Conversation

We started a community news publication on May 2001 the inscription below the banner read:

Brothers United Who Dare to Care, Inc. presents this newsletter, “SPEAK UP”, in an effort to inform, educate and inspire the people of this community.  Encouraged by an article in the March 2001 newsletter, “THE WRITTEN WORD” (Washington DC area), Oronde Miller wrote “There is currently a need for more strong African publications that can galvanize the attention of and mobilize the greater African community.  This is our challenge today”.  Brothers United Who Dare to Care, Inc., has accepted that challenge and we are providing this medium as an instrument to share information and ideas.

The publication has grown in readership and added different sections to meet the interest of our readers including the back page Speak Up Photo Gallery.  See the Speak Up link on this site to view all published issues free.
